Craft Victoria’s First Peoples Project supports creative practitioners of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent to present a 7 – 8 week exhibition at Craft Victoria’s Watson Place premises.
We are seeking expressions of interest from Victorian-based curators, collectives and/or artists to present either a solo project or group exhibition from 1 July – 27 August 2022. The successful recipient will be provided with a curator's fee of $4000 and will be supported by the Curatorial and Programs Manager in the development of the exhibition. The exhibition will form part of Craft Victoria’s 2022 exhibitions program.
The exhibition includes a budget covering material costs and artists fees and is supported by the Australia Council for the Arts, Creative Victoria and the City of Melbourne.
The successful applicant will receive:
*Nb. The exhibition will be open alongside Craft Victoria’s normal opening hours following government health guidelines. The successful applicant is not required to invigilate the space.

Proposals will be reviewed by a selection panel comprising of Jenna Lee, Gulumerridjin (Larrakia), Wardaman and KarraJarri artist and curator of 2021 First Peoples Project, and the Craft Victoria curatorial team.
Applicants will be notified by 26 November 2021.
