A Mood Board for Libra Season Equilibrium is a textile installation of material representations and interpretations of lockdown psychogeography, seed sprouting, survivalist aesthetics, reality tv, pointless tinder swiping, pink shy showers, zoom hedge guessing games, new moon intentions, cursed furby images, weeds breaking through cracks, online technique tutorials, cringe couple prank tik toks, worm farms, creek walking and uncertainty.

John Brooks is a Melbourne-based artist. Working across a variety of media, his practice reflects on ideas of interconnectivity and the influence objects and materials have on humans, as well as the anthropomorphic qualities humans project onto objects. Working predominantly with hand-weaving techniques combined with other mediums such as video, performance, sculpture and installation. Originally trained as a textile designer, John sometimes steps back into the fashion industry to collaborate with local fashion labels to create custom fabrics. He balances his practice with his work as a teacher, currently running studio classes at RMIT in the Textile Design and Development program, and facilitating weaving workshops with unconventional materials and found objects on makeshift looms.
