The Maker Showcase celebrates excellence in craft. We hold an open call for artists and craftspeople to apply to become part of the showcase, encouraging a diversity of exciting work that profiles contemporary craft and design. First Peoples makers are strongly encouraged to apply, as are those working in areas of sustainability, and use of innovative materials.
Spaces are very limited and successful applicants will demonstrate promising or demonstrated commercial appeal, excellence in fabrication techniques, strong craft-based skills and originality.
Key Selection Criteria
- Quality of concept and demonstration of a high level of skill in both design and production
- Commercial potential of the work, specific to the Maker Showcase and related opportunities
- Originality of concept and design
- All work must be made in Australia
- Contextualisation of work within the current Craft space and makers
- Selected work to be available for consignment for a minimum 6-month period and reviewed on an ongoing basis
- Applicants must be current Craft Members
