The Melbourne raised, but Berlin-based artist Buff Diss has created a unique brand of independent public art, eschewing the use of paint to work solely through the medium of tape. Selected works can be found in Buff Diss’s collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/3 in 2014.
Buff Diss, in some sense of the term, ‘paints’ with masking tape. Given the limited possibilities that lie in the inflexible nature of masking tape, Buff Diss’s art is quite incredible; his creations are intricate works of graphical detail, sometimes very geometrical, sometimes almost organic in their appearance, and most of the times with a figurative subject in mind. Buff Diss’s works can be found outdoors as well as indoor, they never fail to impress in either environment.
