Christine Collins is a contemporary jeweller based in Tarntanya/Adelaide. She recently completed a two year associateship at JamFactory, South Australia.
Christine makes jewellery which incorporates precious, industrial and found materials. Recent works investigate the transformation of minerals by mining and incorporates material forms along an industrial pathway from rock to resource, including land, mineral ore, biproducts, waste and product.
Christine began studying jewellery as a tilt toward materiality and draws on her experience as a visual artist, having completed a Masters of Fine Art at Glasgow School of Art. She has exhibited jewellery in the Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize, JamFactory CollectSpace, Broken Hill City Gallery and Contemporary Wearables.
