Claudia Bloxsome Cloud May Studio

Grounded in the transformative potential of weaving, Claudia Bloxsome meticulously manipulates fibres, exploring the interplay of time, sentiment, and care to express an interconnected pattern language by way of a self-defined symbology. Often incorporating metal and timber as scaffolding, Bloxsome manipulates the infinite 2D grid that forms the basis of woven cloth to create forms that attempt to capture and translate temporal, spatial and societal impermanence.

As a lifelong pursuit, weaving offers Bloxsome endless possibilities for introspection and experimentation as she explores times’ passage, seeking to capture the rhythms and cycles that shapes lives. Like the underlying structure of woven fabric, these patterns provide a conceptual framework for navigating life’s journey with the aim to create works that resonate with viewers, offering a shared contemplation of life’s enduring patterns and the resilience of the human spirit.

Through rhythm, colour, and texture, I aim to evoke a sense of calm and wonder, offering viewers a momentary escape into a world of aesthetic repose.
