Drez is a multidisciplinary artist well recognised for his large-scale public murals, which can be found around Naarm/Melbourne and throughout Australia and Europe. His artistic approach is rooted in graffiti and street art and inspired by art historical movements, whilst offering a fresh contemporary perspective.
Cascade and Solar are an extension of this Chromatic Pulse series, as panoramic paintings that draw you in and create the illusion of movement. These works embody a sense of motion and flow, whilst the use of colour is intended to evoke an emotional response. The light grey borders framing these works act to separate the coloured ‘pulses’ from the wall, almost appearing as if levitating in space.
Positioned outside the communal wellness areas, these works offer residents space for transition, encouraging a further opportunity to reset and re-centre oneself in their presence.
