Isabel Avendano-Hazbun is a furniture maker and textile designer interested in intersecting these two disciplines in new and interesting ways. Her practice is driven by a desire to learn new techniques and processes by creating technically challenging works and one-off functional sculpture pieces. She uses recycled materials in most of her work. Her intention is to challenge our historical understandings of luxury where objects should be considered luxurious precisely because sustainability and aesthetics are equally valued.
