Jade Power

Jade Power is a Melbourne-based emerging artist working predominantly within the expanded field of sculptural ceramics. Her process-driven practice explores material agency and transformation, embracing uncertainty as a generative force within the creative process. Central to her practice is a desire to blur the tenuous boundaries between craft and contemporary art, intention and emergence, authorship and co-agency. Through negotiation between maker, material and process, Power investigates precarity, interdependence and adaptation as both material conditions and ways of understanding the world.

Power completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at RMIT University in 2025. Her work has been recognised through the Fiona & Sidney Myer Ceramic Art Award, the Ceramics and Glass Circle of Australia Award, the RMIT Creative Residency Award, and inclusion in the 2025 Hatched: National Graduate Show at PICA. Power is participating in Craft Victoria’s Fresh! Fellowship Program in 2026.

My creative practice as an ongoing negotiation with self, material and the world—a space to unlearn control by working towards uncertainty.
