Louise Marson

As an emerging artist living with disability from an acquired brain injury and mental illness, Louise’s art practice is both her voice and mindfulness. Louise is committed to her daily art’s practice and work out of her studio at Collingwood Yards. In 2016 she commenced her first mosaic and reflected on powerful Gaudi images from her Barcelona travels in the early nineties. Louise usually works with natural recycled stone such as marble, travertine, slate and limestone. The individual marble tesserae resonate a powerful voice of mental health and wellness. The stone is cut and faceted to show the unexpected!

Only 17% of people who live with a disability are born with it, the rest acquire the disability. A disability occurs every 15 minutes. It has the potential to happen to anyone. We are everywhere!

Louise’s life is enriched by her assistance dogs, Penny and Bella.
