Louise Meuwissen is an Australian artist who works with textiles and found materials to make detailed embroidered paintings, sculptures and wearable art. Louise is interested in adornment and decoration, the connections between labour and luxury, and the ways we express ourselves and connect with each other through the objects we choose to collect and discard. Her practice is underpinned by environmental concerns and reverence for nature and her research investigating devotion, the Sublime, hoarding, storytelling and mythology.
