Michael Gittings is a creative practitioner working with metals. His practice spans furniture design and sculpture and uses industry and artisan treatments and technologies to form and finish metal products. His distinct style arises from an innovative approach to metalworking, incorporating techniques at the very forefront of modern science and those that have been around for millennia, harking back to pre-industrial practices. Michael was raised in Albury, Victoria, and established his design studio in Naarm/Melbourne in 2016. He has exhibited throughout Australia and is found in both private and public collections, including the NGV collection.
