Nadège Desgenétez is a visual artist and educator. Born and educated in France, Desgenétez honed her glass blowing skills by working for some of the most established practitioners in Europe and the USA. She has taught and exhibited in Europe, America, Asia and Australia, and was a full time academic at the Australian National School of Art and Design in Canberra AU from 2005 to 2023. Passionate about education she continues to engage in teaching in both academic and vocational contexts.
Desgenétez has received international honours including the Prix de la Vocation froFondation Marcel Bleustein Blanchet (FR), grants from Arts ACT and the Australia Council for the Arts (AU), and residencies from Northlands Creative Glass (SCT), Pittsburgh Glass Center (USA) and the Tacoma Museum of Glass (USA). Her work is held in private and public collections including at the Canberra Museum and Art Gallery (AU), the Carnegie Museum of Art (USA), the Corning Museum of Glass (USA) and the Toledo Museum of Art (USA). Desgenétez is represented by Heller Gallery New York (USA), Traver Gallery Seattle (USA), Galerie Mouvements Modernes Paris (FR) and The Something Machine Bellport (USA). A doctoral candidate at UniSA, Adelaide, she is based between Melbourne and Canberra where she maintains her studio.
