Roseanne Bartley is an artist-jeweller and creative writer whose work explores the role of jewellery in personal and interpersonal communication. Her projects combine narrative, social, and material processes, using jewellery as both form and medium to foster interaction and connection. Through wearable artefacts, exhibitions, hosted walks, and live art collaborations, her works generate feedback loops and create performative connections that highlight the relationality of ornamentation. These embodied processes open metaphoric and phenomenological links, facilitating play-based connections between people, language, materiality, and place.
Roseanne's work has been featured in national and international exhibitions, publications, festivals, and symposiums. She has received several accolades, including an ARC scholarship (2014) and an Australia Council Barcelona residency (2004), alongside support from the Australia Council and Arts Victoria. Her work is held in collections at the NGV.
