Yueyun Chen (Lily) is a Chinese-born designer whose work bridges traditional craftsmanship and modern design. A graduate of RMIT University’s Bachelor of Fashion (design) honours degree (2024), Chen specializes in exploring the potential of crochet techniques within the contemporary fashion context.
Through her work, Chen seeks to convey women's resilience through gentle designs and to rich cultural meanings through subtle details. Inspired by real flowers and the traditional Chinese Bao Xiang floral motif, her work blends handcrafted textures with classic fabrics like denim, showcasing the artistry of manual techniques.
Chen’s designs also emphasize adaptability and versatility, creating garments that seamlessly transition between occasions. Each piece is a unique interpretation of beauty, reflecting moments of discovery and surprise.
