My work investigates place. Attempt to build alternative places. I search for potential new understandings of the relationship between individuals/objects and the space they inhabit. The practice often amplifies the notion of “in-betweenness” which resides in the Chinese aesthetics and philosophy of leaving blank 留白. It privileges the relational and the untold.
My work situates in sentiments of home; the conflicts between civilisation and nature, social development and individuals’ interests. These feelings of unsettled and lost bother me deeply.
