Have a project or exhibition idea? We’d love to hear about it.

Craft is dedicated to supporting, presenting, and producing craft and design-focused creative practices. We champion Australian makers and celebrate our shared human impulse to shape the world around us. We hold an open call out, exclusive to Craft Members, to propose an idea or creative project for presentation with or at Craft. Ideas can range from exhibitions (group or solo) to workshops, talks and public programs etc.

Consideration will be given to proposals that are expansive of the representation of Australian cultural and creative practices across career stages, and themes and ideas that are centred in craft and design practice, material focus, skill and technique, functional and sculptural work, genre defining, conceptual and aesthetic excellence.

To share an idea, please read through the application guidelines as outlined below.

Submissions are reviewed up to 4 times per year.

Proposals must include the following:
- 300-500 words describing the proposed creative project and the key concepts and ideas you will explore – themes and ideas must be centred in craft and design practice and should participate in the discourse that shapes the direction of craft and design nationally and internationally;
- Information and details of proposed collaborators and participants; and
- About you and your CV, including support material, links to your websites/social media, information on past projects/exhibitions (if available).
- Strength and originality of proposed project;
- Proposed works/artists to include craft-based practitioners, including collaborative and cross-disciplinary;
- Viability within Craft’s creative programming;
- Culturally responsible; and
- Applicants must be current Craft Members
