For Visionaries 2025, Craft is thrilled to be working with Joseph Gardner, the Style Editor at Large at Vogue Living and Director of Sydney-based gallery, Studio Gardner.
Joseph is the curator of DONE/UNDONE – an exhibition of 50+ artists, launching 14 November at Craft. The exhibition coincides with the holiday gifting season, so we sat down with Joseph to find out what's on his wish list this year.
CV: What’s your go-to gift for friends and family?
JG: I like to gift books and useful but beautiful items for entertaining or cooking – handmade utensils, glassware, trays, plates.
One-off ceramic vessels make for really special gifts too.
What is high on your own wish list?
Vessels and utensils by Kenny Yong-soo Son in silver.
Being a gracious guest, what are you gifting your hosts?
A bottle of their favourite poison with some beautiful handmade glassware to accompany.
Small but thoughtful, what are you gifting your colleagues and clients?
A well-designed cheese knife and a good bottle of wine... you can never have too many of either.
The sky is the limit (AKA an unlimited budget!), what are you giving your partner?
An archive Maison Margiela Duvet coat from AW 1999… or jewellery – something by Bobby Corica as we are both fans of his work.
What’s something you can’t stop thinking about – the ultimate self-gift?
Taking a year off – to do nothing except eat and dream :)
