In this hands-on demonstration and workshop, Craft invites you to join DNJ Paper at MPavilion 10, designed by Tadao Ando, to discover the unique processes and philosophy behind the creation of the MP10 uniform and how they turn a sheet of paper into a luxurious dyed cloth.

DNJ Paper makes objects, garments and accessories out of handmade Japanese paper. In this workshop, designers Daphne Mohajer va Pesaran and Jake Nakashima-Edwards will share traditional Japanese and experimental methods for making and dyeing paper cloth, as well as invite participants to examine their archive of handmade paper, made in Japanese workshops. Participants will get an introduction and overview of the historical context and relevance of this material practice, as well as a hands-on experience.
