Blanche Tilden has forged an international reputation working across studio glass and contemporary jewellery since 1995. Her practice is driven by an enduring fascination with the material and metaphoric potential of glass, exploring evolving relationships between humanity and technology through references to modernism, industrial materials, objects and the built environment.

This Studio Session offers Craft Members the opportunity to visit Blanche Tilden’s studio and hear directly from the artist about her multidisciplinary practice and research-led approach to making. The visit coincides with Lean In, Blanche Tilden’s exhibition at Craft, providing deeper context to the work presented in the gallery.

The session will include a guided tour of the studio, discussion of recent and current projects, and insight into Blanche’s use of handmaking, industrial and digital processes. There will be time for questions and conversation, with Craft Members gaining behind-the-scenes insight into a practice that moves between glass, jewellery and object-making, and considers value beyond traditional material hierarchies.
