Ancient and Modern is a demonstration of historical textile techniques using contemporary materials. Join artisans from the Handweavers and Spinners Guild of Victoria as we hold a demonstration day of ancient textile techniques. Both modern and traditional fibres and tools will be used to express creativity and technical skill.
There will be individual stations set up in the hall showing up to ten different textile techniques with encouragement for those viewing to try for themselves. The textile techniques will range from rare techniques such as ply split braiding and nalbinding to the more well known spinning and weaving.
