PROCESS is a ceramic workshop to re-explore the individual diversity of self-expression through collective repossession. This 2-hour hand building workshop is presented in conjunction with The Neighbourhood Justice Centre in Collingwood. Ages 18 and above are invited to interact and express a moment of resolution. Through the process of expression, personal self-healing, reflection and growth, self-esteem resurfaces.

Using sun dry clay to sculpt a responsive form followed by acrylic decoration, this workshop will be followed by a 6-month exhibition in which participants will have their work displayed in conjunction with other mixed medium emerging Naarm/Melbourne-based artists.

Each participant will sculpt their own cup, decorate and later be able to take it home as a keepsake. Cups represent the 5 senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Pertaining to situations and events of an emotional nature – by capturing positive mindfulness, and creative natures, the physical is able to reflect and express the positive.

An artist talk, refreshments, and a collaborative sharing session will be held. Artists featured include Richard Monger, Liang Ching Ching and Dr Paula Mahoney.
