Weaving WILDerness is a spontaneous common, in an unexpected place, woven from an entanglement of earths, sprigs, textiles and projection.

Artist pattie beerens will be in the gallery regularly to tend to the common and to share her love of clay – earth – mud. – and her practice of clay weaving. Pattie will share how she creates scores, like in dance, to explore the notion that humans, as part of nature, are kin with the world around them. At night, Weaving WILDerness will re-form with movement, images, and light from an ensemble of projectors. Artist Rory Daniel will craft with projection to form expressions of vitality, disguised in fragility, ephemerality, erosion, and aging.

Visitors will be invited to weave with the artist. Clay weaving is a very meditative practice and leads to impromptu discussions around how we inhabit the world and the notion of being nature rather than separate from it.

Group visits and special opening times can be arranged by appointment.
