This three-day workshop is an introduction to the theory and practice of traditional signwriting. The theory includes letter construction, design principles, colour theory and the safe use of paints and solvents. The practice includes brush and mahlstick control, drawing patterns, transfer of patterns to substrate, paint thinning and mixing, signwriting, equipment cleaning and maintenance.
At the end of this workshop, participants will take away a property name sign of their own design (approximate retail value $330-440).
