Mycelium Studios presents: 'Decontaminate the Discarded: Rewiring the Web' - a satellite exhibition between Mycelium Studios artists, Designers and agitators, as part of Craft Contemporary 2022.

Our opening night will have poetry readings, a weaving workshop, music to promote life energy flow, a food van and a cocktail/ mocktail bar.

We will also be unveiling the new 6 metre mural by resident artist Jack Rowland.

Mycelium Studios is named after the substrate that connects a spectrum of life underground, breaking organic matter down into usable nutrients that get cycled back into the soil. The mycelial network has the power to disrupt or parasatize but can also devise diverse enzymatic responses to complex challenges.

Paul Stamets says, "Fungi are the grand recyclers of the planet and the vanguard species in habitat restoration."

As artists, can we be like the fungi? Can we work at the forefront of the regeneration of culture, breaking down that which is no longer serving us, incorporating waste products into our art making, decontaminating the vast refuse of extractative culture to move towards healthier ways of interacting with our world?

Can we use our craft to find ways to reconnect, rewire, and re-animate fragmented or calcified culture, weaving in diverse voices and perspectives?
