For the month of October Alexander Brown is displaying his exhibition titled Material Explorations within ALPHA60's Chapter House in Melbourne's CBD. His works will explore a series of commonplace materials across three levels of the space from the front window on Flinders Lane, the staircase landing and then the grand hall of Chapter House.
Alexander Brown is a Melbourne based multi-disciplinary artist and designer with a diverse creative practice including lighting, objects, sculpture and site-specific installations that have been exhibited nationally since 2016. His work across design and artistic case studies question identity and focus heavily on value and perception. Regularly employing commonplace materials and the repetition of elementary actions en masse to achieve beautiful and sculptural works. The intention with this exhibition is to expose and communicate the materials wider identity through modest technique and minimal intervention. This work is deigned to capture and respond to the existing light conditions in a playful and meaningful way as to encourage interaction from exhibition guests.
