Ok, you're well on the way to making fabulous ceramics but you're a bit frustrated because you need to fire your own work and learn all about it! Maybe you also need some structured guidance in the basics of how to decide what clay to use and what temperature to fire your kiln to? What are the considerations and what's involved in packing your beautiful pieces into one? What can possibly go wrong? Then there's studio design and glaze testing and recycling considerations! So much to learn!

Saturday and Sunday 8-9 October 10am-4pm

This weekend intensive course will cover many of these basics including health and safety considerations and essential environmental best-practice.

Experienced ceramic artist Alana Casey (@usagiceramics) will help increase your confidence and understanding of how to approach getting started!

This course will suit people who have had a minimum of at least one year of any type of weekly classes. You will need familiarisation and a basic understanding of simple ceramics terminology such as Earthenware/Stoneware/Porcelain/Raku/Bisque/Gloss/Lustre/Oxidation/Reduction.
