In 2024, Craft introduced the Fresh! Fellowship – an expanded program designed to further foster the creative potential of recent graduates.
For the 2025 Fellowship program, Craft invited expressions of interest from Naarm/Melbourne-based emerging creatives who have graduated from university undergraduate and TAFE degrees in fine art, craft and design disciplines in 2022, 2023 or 2024. Ten applicants were selected to participate in the Fellowship program.
Providing 12 months of professional mentorship support, the fellowship program responds to the specific needs of emerging artists, developing their knowledge of the sector, and ensuring the participants continue to build their skills and networks as they take their practices from an educational context to a professional one.
The Fellowship responds to the vital need for support for recent graduates as they take their creative practice from an educational to a professional context.
Many of this year’s participants are already making their mark in the sector – Georgie Szymanski is a finalist in the National Gallery of Victoria’s 2025 Rigg Design Prize; Thao Bui was a participant in Romanian Jewellery Week 2025; Belinda Farinaccia has been awarded an Ian Potter Emerging Artist Grant; and Angelica Zumpo is a finalist in the Wollongong Art Prize 2025.
Craft is proud to help nurture this rising talent as part of our impact-driven creative program— and the future is certainly bright for the 2025 cohort.
The Fresh! Fellowship is generously supported by the Amaeah Foundation
